Born This Way – Lady Gaga

…Okay. Seriously, woman, what was going through your head with these covers? This one’s okay. I mean, it’s a hot ass mess, and her facial expression just kills the whole thing. But the other cover? I don’t know whether you were born as some half-motorcycle cyborg or not, but that’s probably not something you just want to reveal to the whole world, is it? I mean, you WERE born this way, apparently. Continue reading

Moshi Moshi Harajuku – Kyarypamyupamyu

I’ll be honest, I am entirely here for this cover. The actual photograph itself is framed really well, and even if it’s rather simple, it works. There’s something damn mesmerizing about her eyes and those obviously fake lashes. Then you get to the mouth and things start getting weird. JPN – Perfume

You know what? Yes, this is an official cover. Perfume always photograph amazingly well, and their single covers (apart from Nee) are ALWAYS fucking flawless. And then what do we get for JPN? I don’t care what the cover they showed us looked like. This is it. Continue reading

When it comes to Saori, I know to expect pretty sub-standard covers these days. I was hoping working with Aira would be a bump to maybe a decent cover or (god forbid) a PV for her, but as soon as I saw the mess that was the cover I knew that wasn’t going to happen. I get that the album has a safari concept, but the styling for the promos was great… On Saori’s side. So I don’t know what they’re thinking. Not that this is a new thought with D-Topia, but ANYWAY. Continue reading
